Introduction
Australia has a thriving video-game industry that accounts for roughly 2-3% of the global market; with retail sales of software, consoles and peripherals netting approximately $1.5 billion in 2011.[1] Online purchases netted between $250 million and $400 million that same year.[2] Analysts at Telsyte expect Australians to spend over $450 million on games on the digital marketplace in 2012. A PwC report predicted that by 2015, the Australian market would reach approximately $2.5 billion.
